Perspectives on Race

A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

Stand against Racism

with one comment

A YMCA in Grand Island is hosting a nationally sponsored event advocating residents to take a stand against racism. It intends to do this by bringing people together across cultures for the goal of eliminating racism and increasing awareness among different people. I feel that this is great. They have a family fun day where people from all walks of life come to join. Although I know that racism cannot be eliminated in one day with one event, I think that if communities all over the country can attempt to do things like this, then maybe we can start making a difference with the next generation.

  1. This is a great example of a small step that needs to be taken in order to move in the right direction. Obviously it is true that this day on its own won’t change the entire world, but any progress is better than none, and if more organizations could have the idea to do similar things then great progress could be made possible.
