A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

The Movie: The Blind Side

During the movie a black lady interviewed Big Mike. I guess some people thought the only reason his adopted family the Touhys took him in was so he could lay football for Ole Miss because they were alumni from the school. But anyways watching the movie I could believe that Mrs. Touhy’ friends would talk about the fact that she could bring a “black” boy into her home.

Even the teachers, supposedly “Christian” teachers would bad talk him and act like he was the dumbest person in the world. What got me was the one male teacher who never even gave him a chance. This low GPA boy was pulling his grades up except in this man’s class. Why? Could the reason be the teacher didn’t want him to pass his class. I mean he already thought the boy was dumb and wasn’t worthwhile teaching. A turning point in this was when he did the extra credit and wrote a paper tying his life in with a meaningful book. When the teacher read his paper I think he became remorseful and then realized Big Mike was smart and worthwhile.

That’s why you shouldn’t judge people by any means but give them a chance because everyone have a past and you never know their stories.

  1. I think we are all guilty of judging someone before we get to meet them every once in awhile but you are right that we should not judge people by ant means and honestly I try to live by that statement everyday.
