Perspectives on Race

A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

A blast from the past…

This is probably one of the most insensitive things I have ever witnessed. After watching this video, I don’t even know if I want to fill out my census anymore. No one reading this blog right now can remember when black people were referred to as “negro”, because it’s an ancient term, but why did the term just resurrect itself on the 2010 census form? When I saw this video, I just couldn’t believe my eyes, because this just seems to unreal to be true. African-Americans haven’t been referred to as negro, since the 40’s, how the hell does the census form have the word “negro” on it?

  1. just pure plain ignorance. I don’t see how some would even want to be classified as such a term that once tried to supress black people systematically. I don’t know why I am surprised, this is not anything new
