Diversity Around Campus

leave a comment »

Today I was showing a friend around campus who goes to an ivy league school.  As we were walking through campus we were discussing the differences between our schools and one comment that he made was how there is so much diversity at UF.  He said that at his school there is basically only one type of person around campus, the stereotypical white, rich kid.  It was really strange for me to realize that not every school is like ours, with so much diversity around campus that we rarely even notice it anymore.  Why is it that at these ivy league schools diversity is not as welcome?
