Perspectives on Race

A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

The human heart.

I hanging out with a friend today, and the Haiti earthquake came up. I truly see that this is a horrifying situation and my prayers are with them everyday. It is truly hard to understand why this kind of things happen. This is a second time that I have seen a natural disaster affect  people already in bad living conditions. What I think is the most amazing things out of it, is that these tragedies bring us all together. I truly find it sad that it has to be only in awful situations like these. Nevertheless, there are people from all over the world that are in Haiti now helping, setting all their differences and  selfishness apart. And I am most certain that Haiti is going to come out of this experience and that they can do it because the whole entire world has stopped for a second to lend a hand to a friend in real need.

  1. I know isn’t that beautiful?? I love to see peaple of the same race, the human race, working together. I think God is send the world a wake up call, we can’t live without one another. Even the bible says that it’s not ment for man to be alone. This proves that we can live together and love one another despite color. I hate that we did not learn from all other tragedies in the past, but we can learn from this one. Life is not about color, it’s about love. The bible says that there is no greater love then for a man to lay his life down for a friend, that’s the kind of love many are showing Haiti.

  2. I agree with you, what happened in Haiti was horrible, but for a moment the American people came together to give aid for Haiti. It’s also horrible that it takes a tragic event for us to all come together.
