A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

ABC and Adam Lambert

with 2 comments

I personally did not watch the AMA’s but I have been hearing about this situation with Adam Lambert who’s performance ended the AMA’s. According to what I have read, Mr. Lambert did some very sexual explicit actions while performing on stage. I would rather not get into the details but just from what I read I would say Mr. Lambert is wrong. I don’t think this is acceptable for anyone to do. Adam has released statements and some people claim that there is a double standard. I completely stand by the Alphabet company’s decision. That was unacceptable regardless of gender and sexuality. People have commented on this story claiming that ABC is canceling his appearances because of his sexuality and that the company is homophobic. I say that this has nothing to do with his sexuality. For one thing ABC is owned by Disney. When one hears of Disney one thinks of innocent and children stuff so they have an image to protect for one and they have the right to  decide what’s best for their company. Do you all think that ABC’s decisions are motivated by Adam’s sexuality?

  1. It is absolutely true that the exaggerated concern was based on the fact that he is a homosexual male. But that does still not excuse the inappropriateness of his actions on national television.

  2. I think there is a double standard that NBC is entertaining. They allow female artists to do pretty risque stuff on television. Maybe the issue isn’t sexuality but gender. Is is acceptable in our society to allow women to be objectifid and hypersexual but not men?
