American spies for Cuba found guilty

with one comment

Walter and Gwendolyn Myers have spied in the US for Cuba for 30 years and have even professed their admiration for Castro.  Walter has been sentenced to life imprisonment, Gwendolyn will spend several years in jail, and the couple must pay the US Government $1.7 million for thier crimes. Walter had a job at the CIA and would wire encrypted messages to Cuba with little compensation from Cuba for his crimes. It seems that he willingly betrayed the US govt. our of his admiration for Castro although it’s hard to imagine why.

I think it’s noteworthy that it’s a white and not a Cuban couple who were the spies. In my experience, all Cubans hate Fidel Castro so much that they eagerly anticipate his death.

  1. When dealing with ideological conflicting interests, anything is possible. No surprise here.
