This video is about how Disney has finally created a princess character for the African american young girl. I think that all young girls will watch this movie and enjoy it as much as all the other princesses in other Disney films.

But I was surprised when I heard that it took 71 years unitl Disney created an African American princess. This was a shock to me because they created an Arabian princess, a Native American princess and an Asian princess before an African American princess.

  1. Disney has a history of making racist cartoons especially towards African Americans. Some feel that the reason that Disney has featured minority princesses in its films is due to politics. Marketing felt that doing so would only target a certain population and would rather target a wider audience. Yes, it is about time that Disney created a movie geared towards African Americans!

  2. I have already posted my opinion based on this topic, it is a bad idea to have this movie!

  3. Disney has never made a movie with a Hispanic princess. I wonder if after Latinos become a larger minority group, Disney will find a reason to create a Hispanic protagonist.

  4. I’m not sure how I feel about the African American disney Princess idea. I like that they added a new ethnic character but I also wonder if this will stir any controvery.
