UK ‘Couples Retreat’ Poster Brings Cries of Racism by Removing Black Actors

with one comment

This article is about how the marketers in the United Kingdom removed the black actors from promotional posters after the United States used all for couples. A Universal spokesman said the altered poster was aimed “to simplify the poster to actors who are most [recognizable] in international markets.”

I have seen this movie and I thought that the black couple, Faizon Love and Kali Hawk, was the funniest couple on this film. The UK should not have removed the black couple from the posters. They claim that removing them from the posters wasn’t racist but comparing the UK to the USA posters, I would see this as a racist scheme to promote the movie.

  1. I heard about this also and was completely shocked. I saw no reason to take this couple off the movie poster. At first I just thought it was a prank, but when I heard it over entertainment news, I knew that the UK was very serious about it. The reason that they gave seemed like complete bull, but then again, if that were to happen in the US it would be a blatant act of racism. I think many people will be able to see through this.
