Perspectives on Race

A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

Michael Jackson Costume

Last week for Halloween I was Michael Jackson. An interesting thought came to my mind when I saw the other abundant Michael Jackson’s flowing throughout Halloween. Instead of having a racially constrained character, Michael Jackson really did break open the doors for all races. One could all the reasons for his skin change. Regardless, even when I wore the white glove, the top hat, and rocked the jheri curl, I still felt like Michael Jackson even though I have white skin. In this sense, if you wanted to be Michael Jackson for Halloween, it didn’t really matter if you were black or white 🙂

  1. I Think that Michael Jackson is black then and now. I could never see Michael Jackson being referred as a white. He was the one to live a passage way for black artists.

  2. I find it interesting how you view michael jackson skin color. he was a black man and claimed to never have done anything to bleach his skin however you still feel like you looked like him even though youre naturally white. Just to show you michael jackson lost a lot of credibility for being black.
