Perspectives on Race

A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

with one comment

i have a few friends in a reggae band. They sent out a few demo tapes to different bars/recording studios for either a small gig or maybe even a recording offer. The band all got the same response the people loved the music but they  want the band to send us a picture of them. After they sent the pictures no one would ever call them back. Finally one day the lead singer asked a bar manager why havent they schedule to perform if they loved the music so much. The owners response was “white reggae died when sublime died” i was so taken aback by this response i couldnt understand this answer. is it because they are white their music is no longer worth listening too? Do you have to fit a certain look to become recognized? I just cant understand how unfair this is because they arent true rastafarian reggae musicians their music is no longer validated?

  1. This is very disappointing. I think that whenever people say these things; we has society take a big step back.
