Perspectives on Race

A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

leave a comment »

The readings over the last month have really made me think about segregation in society and its existence. I have grown up in a pretty mixed area that is not racially segregated. So the idea of segregation is foreign to me. Reading about it over the week has really opened my eyes to the problem that exists. After reading all the facts and figures that are gathered on the subject there is no way to refute that it exists. I find those who have been spouting that it is not a problem to be full of it. So the question remains to fix it. Will market incentives prevail? Will government have to step in? Is it necessary for drastic change or will that further alienate and divide? The answers remain unknown to me. Hopefully as we read on  and explore the subject they will become clear.
