A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

Video games raise concerns over racism

The Anti-defamation league has issued warnings to the general public about racist violence.  Certain neo-nazi groups and white supremicists have created racist video games.  The most popular game is called “Ethnic Cleansing” where the player is a white person and you basically just walk around and shoot African American, hispanic and jewish characters.  The game also has racist audio and pictures.  The concerns are that these games will be brought into homes unknowingly.  The people or children may not know the content of the game until they’re far into it.  I believe that this will definitely help in some way but then again just giving these games publicity may cause more of these games to be sold to racists and most likely they’ll share them with other people.  So I guess publicizing this will be good and bad.  The creator of “Ethnic Cleansing” is planning on releasing a video game based on the Turner Diaries which influenced the Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.  I feel these games should be illegal and it should be fairly easy to stop the production.  If this is legal our government should reconsider how they operate.

  1. That’s so horrible. I’ve never heard of such a game, though I don’t play video games. I definitely think these games should be stopped and destroyed. How something called Ethnic Cleansing could be seen as a good thing is beyond my comprehension.

  2. Wow. I also don’t play video games but these games sound just wrong. I cant believe someone would actually design and come up with the ideas for a video games. And a lot children play video games and this sends messages to them.
