Perspectives on Race

A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

Hispanic farmers claim discrimination

with 2 comments

This Hispanic family lost thier farm after they did not get a loan from the USDA. The Hispanic couple claim that this is discrimantion because they saw many white farmers get the loans and they did not get the loan because they are Hispanic. I think this story is true because I think whites are more likely to get loans than minorities. I also think that this is wrong people should not be denied loans just on there race.

  1. If its true that USDA did not give them loan due to race then the organization should be investigate and reprimanded. However in most cases it was probably do to other factors and not because of their race. Loans decisions are base on finical history and its possible that Hispanic family just did not have enough finical history to qualify for the loan.
