A Discussion about Events Concerning Race

Unacceptable behavior in the public media Mark Williams

Mark Williams is a “Tea Party” leader that appeared on a CNN panel on “Anderson Cooper 360”, discrediting himself and his movement. In the interview, Cooper caught Williams misrepresenting himself by stating “What you’re saying makes sense to me here, when I’m hearing what you say but then I read on your blog, you say, you call the President an Indonesian Muslim turned welfare thug and a racist in chief”. William’s responds was, “Yeah, that’s the way he’s behaving.” Cooper asks Williams if he really believes Obama is an Indonesian Muslim and a welfare thug. William response was: “He’s certainly acting like it. Until he embraces the whole country what else can I conclude.”

When I first saw this video I was upset that there are people in Williams’ position that to attack Obama purely on his race.  What does this say about our society and intolerance that is still going on in United States?  Mark Williams’s attacks on Obama race is not justified.  Since Williams attacked the President’s race directly, do you think this interview could influence the public view that Obama’s race as an issue?
